Hello! I love this distro. It will easily replace Windows 11. Thank you!
Hi All,
CachyOS replaced all my Macs as a daily driver. Still, I use a virtual machine with a W10 for e-government purposes; Macs are sold now, Windows-based machines became obsolete years ago.
Distrohopping and constant back and forth from MacOS to Linux has been over for months now.
This is probably the first distribution in everyday use after almost three decades.
Glad that we have it.
I usually go by āMadEagleā because our mascot is the eagles. I have been building computers before there was an internet. My last job was doing Tech Support for a school district. My son keeps wanting me to learn more about Linux, so here I am. With his help I just might figure this out. Now that I am retiredā¦. just maybe I will. ![]()
You guys have made a fantastic distro. Came from Mint and VMd a bunch of distros. I have no need to look further. Great work and please keep it up.
//A.
I came from dual booting Windows 11 (for Battlefield etc).
Using Ubuntu or Linux Mint, I was never able to control ALL fans of gigabyte mainboard and AMD graphics card at the same time, a lot of tweaking and different tools later, gaming was no fun because of the loudness of my fans.
CachyOS solved this problem immediately.
I came here to stay and to deliver the message sceptical of using Linux for gaming.
Beautiful distro. Iāve been using Linux off and on for 25+ years. Iāve decided to move back to Linux from Windows as my daily driver.
Hi Yāall. My desktop and miniPC both run pure Arch. My laptop (which came with Win 11, Ugh) was quickly replaced with Arch, but honestly, I just couldnāt be bothered. I tried Mint, but found it lagged behind too far for me, so CachyOS it is. All the familiarity of Arch, without the messy installation.
What a great distro! Thank you CachyOS Team for making this possible.
I was mostly with debian based distros and this is the first time using Cachy and Arch in general.
Rediscovering Linux again with excitement like the very first time.
Hi guys! Marcin here, southern Poland. I was very happy to ditch Windows for Linux. After a dozen or so attempts, I found CachyOS and stuck with it. Iām a collector: I have several ThinkPads, a Mac Mini from 2011, an old Vaio. CachyOS currently dominates all of them.
If only CachyOS could be installed on 32bit 2GB RAM hardware, I would probably have it on a Linx 1020 tablet as well. Not to mention Toshiba AC100 (512MB ram, 1Ghz arm Nvidia Tegra CPU), currently running Lubuntu 12.
Greetings to everyone and I wish you a long and prosperous life.
I new to Linux in general with some experience on Debian base distros (Mint, Kali & Ubuntu) but very new to CachyOS, only 1 week so far, but everything has worked right out the box. I have not needed to run different versions of proton for my games, they feel smoother and more responsive. Even small indie games are working great. I came from an original windows build with intel i9 and NVIDIA 2060 super on an MSI motherboard and my build is about 5 years old now.
The customisation is great and it really does feel like I own my hardware again. Getting use to the Arch based terminal/konsole was odd at first but the CachyOS wiki and support makes it easy to find answers for what I am looking for.
New to Cachy OS but not new to linux. I have really enjoyed my time on it so far. Learning lots just browsing through the forums. No real major errors or anything just a small glitch with the store but I did everything I wanted through flatpak so it wasnāt a real issue for me. Doing my best to learn as much as I can hope to be around for a while.
DzieÅ dobry.

Hello to all. I have installed CachyOS to two of my computers. I like it so far. Iāve been a Linux user since 1993, but I mostly used Microsoft DOS 1 and then Windows
I had a love/hate relationship with Windows, but getting Linus to do what I needed was quite a challenge. The first Distro I really thought would replace Windows was Ubuntu Warty Warthog. Iāve tried all the majour distros, even Arch, but Manjaro appealed to me as a daily driver(dd).
I then switched to EndeavourOS, which I am still using as my dd. Just lately, I installed CachyOS, because Iād read good things about it. Very nice indeed! Iām going to be using it as my dd for a while to try it out.
Lastly, Iād like state unequivocally that I hate Microslop Windows. I used it for years and now I repent in dust and ashes of ever having used it. ![]()

Hi all,

lol), IBM3270 and such fancy stuff ā¦
Suse in the 90th, Gnome user since ever - donāt ask me why, I am not getting warm with KDE at all, manjaro some years, now I moved over to cachyos.

Helping some people in my community to get rid of Win10 and installed Mint Cinnamon or XFCE on their systems in the last years.
Anything else? Yes - I like to learn, play around, optimimze my IT to the latest and greatest without any need but just to have it āperfectā for me, I like the thinking āI do not know it, so give it a tryā ā¦
Thanks for reading - I am happy to be here.

Hi there! And greentings from Finland! I installed CachyOS about a week a go with Cosmic and I am just enjoying using this very much!
Before Cosmic I did try Hyprland and ML4W, but I think that may have been a bit too much for me
. I work in IT in a non-linux environment, so for me using linux is both a statement but also a hobby. I have been using computers from around 1979ish (yesā¦.), linux on/off from 2005/2006 or so, but really got back to this hobby few years back with Raspberry Pi. I have an old Macbook in which I installed first ParrotOS and then Mint, but decided to get bit more expandable laptop and got myself an used Thinkpad T14 gen 1. Wanted to learn about virtualization (using KVM/Qemu now, but also used VirtualBox and VMWare Workstation), some (vibe)coding etc. Previous experience mainly from debian based distros. Not an expert in any matters, but have enjoyed gaming, trying out new stuff. And as CachyOS feels really good, now learning to use it and find my way around it. For the development team - what a good job done! Also, happy to be a member of this community!

I was just used to installing through System Settings, so when I could find it, I looked up the app menu and eventually got CUPS to show up. And yes, it just works. ![]()
Thanks.
As iāve been lurking on here a while now, i guess i will post here. Iām 46 yr old from UK. Used Linux since Ubuntu Hardy Heron whatever year that was! From there moved to Mint, then Manjaro and more recently Garuda. I switched to CachyOS recently as I just wanted something a bit more vanilla (less themed) and flexible. So grateful to the devs that maintain this great distro - unbelievable job.
I mainly use my system as a gaming machine - really into Warframe at the moment - and have some media server stuff running on it too. I work in IT as an (Azure) Cloud Architect so naturally I love using Linux outside work. When Iām not on a computer, Iām either shooting bows (Olympic style recurve archery) or watching Ice Hockey - Nottingham Panthers!!
I love cachyos, itās the first time Iāve installed it, Iāve been using it for more than a week, mainly for games on Steam, I have an RTX4080S graphics card and everything definitely works great with the gnome desktop, simple but perfect for me. I used Windows all my life and was fed up with errors like this: Stop code: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE (0X7B). Thanks to the developers of this beautiful operating system, I am already thinking about starting to support through ko-fy.
Hey there!
Iām a new user of CachyOS, as Iām coming from Windows⦠yeah I know ![]()
As I am a gamer, I would like to test my games on Linux, and after a lot of search, forums reading, videos watching, I decided to switch! And, it is only for 10 days, but Iām happy of my choice ![]()
Itās a bit frustrating about tinkering some games to play with, but when it works⦠ha, I feel better ![]()
Iām 50 years old, and I always worked in IT, so switching was not difficult. I just hope that gaming on Linux will grow up a lot, and CachyOS too, as I feel good in this Operating System.
I signed-up here for some technical help, so I apologize if Iām not really active, and hope to not get banned because of this
(as I saw the pinned post about this)
I will upload a pic soon, as I donāt have access to my NAS actually.
If you have any question, Iāll be glad to answer! ![]()
Best Regards,
V.
