When I update the system, I get a warning: wine: local version (9.13-1) is newer than cachyos-v3 (9.11-1).
Why does CachyOS contain the older version 9.11? Is it for security reasons, or for some other? The EOS I’m switching from has version 9.13 couple day.
And what is the difference between wine and wine-cachyos?
We are compiling manually the “wine” version, since people requested a optimized one.
Since multilib is not tracked by our builder, we do it manually. Thanks for telling, ill update them.
wine-cachyos is based on wine-valve experimental branch and includes on top the wine-staging patches, as well as some additional patches. It is also compiled against native libs and optimization
Thank you for the information about wine-cachyos. Very interesting. So I installed wine-cachyos 9.11
Additionally, I think with wine 9.4+ we can get proper opengl support on wayland? It doesn’t seem to work in the valve/cachy-os packages from what I can tell. Oddly some windows programs seem to detect opengl, while others don’t.
