So I really dont like the way Octopi looks and feel and always seem to gravitate towards pacman with a GUI, so I know I can remove octopi but any instructions on how to install a GUI for pacman ?
Thanks
Octopi is a GUI wrapper for pacman (+ optionally supported AUR helpers).
There is no official GUI .. octopi is as close as you will get.
There is parrot in the AUR. But I dont really know much about it.
Avoid pamac as it is not a wrapper for pacman.. but rather a whole different (read: bad) interface with libalpm that eventually seeks to do away with ALPM altogether. They actually dont know what the heck they are doing. ![]()
I used to love Octopi until I discovered terminal app Pacseek. I find it much quicker and easier to use.
You can find it in the AUR.

To each his own. This is mine:
tools: pacseek,paru
I also am using pacseek, within the ~/.config/pacseek/config.json you can make it use paru anyway and have it set up to use pacman for arch and paru/yay/helper for aur. Whatever you like.
parui is also an option, which is just a paru tui.
as for the gui, yeah bauh is likely the best option for that.
Thanks for the tip!
As for tools, Pacseek and Paru are perfectly adequate. I don’t need any more tools for my purposes.
