CachyOS User base: Probably not accurate. Might be higher

Hi all,

I just randomly noticed in my little homeserver, which is my DNS resolver (Adguard Home), that in the quietly popular DNS Blocklist from HaGeZi’s, for example in:

HaGeZi’s Pro++ Blocklist CachyOS iso stats are blocked.

Since I assume that you use this source as one of many (e.g. cachyos repo downloads, distrowatch etc.) to calculate the approximate user base for cachyos, this number could be a bit higher.

Just wanted to mention it, dont know if you are aware of this.

Its also in the “normal” version of the blocklist (the light version does not have it). Don’t know about the PI hole.

Yes we know already that. Were not sure, why they directly blocking this, but maybe due being “telemetry” so that we can have a overview how many downloads we have.

We do not track currently anything else, outside these downloads and the traffic which goes over our CDN/Cloudflare.

okay, perfect - in fact, they literally block everything that is not essential to using the service, thus “stastics” may not be relevant to them, though. But good to know, thanks - “solution provided” :slight_smile: Best
