Xone (X Box 360 wireless controller) is not working with current kernel

I mean maybe I think about it the wrong way, but I thought cachyos considers itself a gaming os? They shouldn’t upgrade to a newer kernel if it break controllers.

Or maybe you should have some clear way of keeping xone compatibility.

maybe I am missing something here, but if I could be pointed on how to downgrade my kernel to a working version that would help a lot of people who idk want to play rocket league.

I’ve heard the forum mods say that CachyOS is NOT a gaming OS, just that the v3 packages tend to lead to better performance in most apps.

Downgrades aren’t really supported on Arch. If you’re going to use a rolling release distro using BTRFS and snapper to roll back your system is the most convenient way to deal with problems.

You can use the LTS kernel which can be installed from our kernel manager app.

You can’t really expect us to provide compatibility to what is esentially abandonware. The upstream repo GitHub - medusalix/xone: Linux kernel driver for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S accessories hasn’t been updated in over 8 months and it’s reliant on some forks which none of the AUR packages really use.

Or you could sell/retire your controller and buy any of the many fully Linux compatible controllers that are cheap and are better quality/featured than whatever slop MS sells these days.

Got rid of all my xbone controllers and replaced them with EasySMX X05 controllers, hall effect sticks and triggers and a bargain on AliExpress, that is just one example of many available now in 2024.

Thank you for all the replies. I understand.

I found a solution: GitHub - dlundqvist/xone: Linux kernel driver for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S accessories
