Xbox Controller not registering input or detection

So, I recently set everything backup physically, and I just went to my usual XBOX controller I use for Katchy. I have two ones, and use the white one primarily as my blue one sits to the side. I tried connecting my controller through a cable, since I find it better to use a USB for better latency and no Bluetooth problems. But the controller is just not registering at all. It turns on, shows a light, and even vibrates. Its being automatically charged through the cable so there is no issues with battery. I tried it on another computer with Windows & even updated the firmware. No dice. In Steam it doesn’t show a popup to show it was even being detected. I checked the firmware version and it was 5.17 after updating, however I get this error in the console…

I have Bluetooth turned off with the Hello app, but I guess it still needs bluetooth to work??

Are you using a power cable instead of a data cable?

I forgot to say it worked on Windows and I’ve tried different cables leading to the same thing. So I used both.

apparently:

USB Device Recognition Issue The first line indicates a USB device descriptor read failure (error -71). Error -71 is EPROTO (protocol error), meaning the USB device isn’t responding correctly to enumeration requests. This suggests the device either has a hardware fault, unstable power delivery, or a driver compatibility issue.

Bluetooth Profile Failures The repeated input-hog profile accept failed messages show that bluetoothd (the Bluetooth daemon) cannot establish the input device profile with the paired device. The input-hog profile handles keyboard and mouse input over Bluetooth.

The PNP_ID read errors indicate the system is also unable to retrieve the device’s Plug and Play identification information, which is needed for proper device classification and driver selection.

if you have bluetooth paired to Cachy, remove the device via the OS bluetooth options

then reset controller

press and hold the Xbox button and the sync button simultaneously for about 30 seconds until the ring light flashes rapidly, then release the buttons

usb is better, so try xone

work well for me (and adds support for the proprietary M$ dongle; if you got one), but it doesn’t support BT
