Tried updating today and got this…
LS is dead as well. Aprils ISO still breaks my audio. Hopefully this is the log, https://paste.cachyos.org/p/b0baaf7.log . Looks like I will have to either wait unto the may update or look for a different OS. That would be a shame because I like how this one runs up until today.
did you do anything with .pacnew files?
What does “tried updating” mean?
What was executed and what was the result?
pacman -Syu and it looked perfectly fine and no other changes?
Logs of “previous boot” show no upgrades but do show a bunch of dbus and nvidia failing - maybe because there have been multiple restarts now?
I tried the updates twice, all 452 of them, once though the cachy-update client and then terminal. The results are the same. No warnings popped up. the log posted was after I rolled back, since I got the blue screen of death of unable to mount. This is the first major fail I have had since I started with this OS back in November. Booted into the ISO from April and it’s good but I don’t have sound.
When did you last update, that’s quite a few? It does go along with less frequent updates complicating issues and identifying said issues.
not really, less than 1/3 of his installed packages.
what did you do exactly? warnings don’t necessarily “pop up” beyond showing in the log of the upgrade.
I’d suggest upgrading again and pasting the output here.
Given that a daily update is usually less than 50 packages, yes, to me it’s a lot. I would also think that over a period of time, many of the packages overlap thus reducing the amount.
But anyway, not pertinent beyond, ‘that’s a lot’.
I can’t do that. Unless there is a log for the the failure to mount after I have to snapshot back. Which is what I posted above. I haven Updated since April 22nd when I lost sound after updating.
just share the command output after updating but before/without rebooting.
Or you can do something like
script outputforsharing
Then perform your updates like
sudo pacman -Syu
End the scripting
exit
Then you could share the contents of the outputforsharing file.
Maybe send it to a paste;
paste-cachyos outputforsharing
This months updates seemed not to break anything, thanks for the help guys.
