My Bose bluetooth headhpones were working with Cachy not too long ago but recently (within the past month-ish) they connect as an Audio Gateway device instead of headphones. If I switch the gateway device, I only have two low quality, mono connections available. At that point, the headphones will appear under Speakers but only for about a minute before it automatically switches back to audio gateway.
I’ve done it with music playing and while just sitting while connected. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to switch, sometimes it happens just a few seconds after I change it from Audio Gateway to something else.
The headphones work fine otherwise. Meaning if i connect them to my phone or something, they work perfectly fine with the noise cancellation.
I have been having a similar issue for the past couple weeks with my Bose headphones. My current workaround is to turn off the headphones and turn them back on, that seems to re-connect them properly as speaker devices for me. Weirdly it recognizes them as a microphone just fine. I keep hoping an update will fix this because troubleshooting bluetooth is a nightmare and I don’t have time right now to be finding and reading logs. Another troubleshooting step I have yet to take but may be a good idea to try is to erase the bluetooth remembered devices on the Cachy machine, reset the headphones (usually there’s a button press combo to do it in the manual), and then re-pair.
Unfortunately I’ve tried both of those things and it doesn’t work for me. If I disconnect then reconnect, it still shows up as a gateway device. It’s not being recognized as anything else anymore when it used to work just fine.
I have also disconnected, then forgotten the device, then repaired them and the same thing happens.
Thanks! I didn’t have downgrade but an easy pacman install got that remedied. Downgraded to 5.85, the script added it to my ignore file too which was nice. Didn’t even need to repair my headphones, just reconnected and they instantly popped up as a High Fidelity AAC device!
