WiFi drivers and Bluetooth

Hello, I start system in live and found that wifi and Bluetooth not work, MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7927 Wireless LAN Card, is this system support it? How to know?

In general, it seems that MediaTek is a problem for Linux (kernel).
There was no support for kernels 6.6.y and 6.7.y. Even 6.11.y does not seem to be ready for MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7927.
I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a while.

Thanks for answer, I’ll be waiting new kernel, hope in 6.12++ will be drivers.

you can watch here if something new

Thanks for that. Till i waiting, i buy wifi adapter tp-link AC600 archer t2u and its also not work, can you help me with this? How to install drivers if it exist?

Chipset seems to be “Realtek RTL8811A” (or 8821?).
Realtek is problematic.

AUR seems to have a bunch:

Realtek RTL8811AU chipset. And what i do next? With that you sent to me? And witch chipset maker better for linux?

I don’t mean to sound rude, but how about doing some research?

Now that you know the chipset you look in the list of possible drivers which might support it.

rtl8821AU and rtl8811AU chipset driver with firmware v5.12.5.2

might work.

It looks pretty standard, uses dkms and seems recent.
No guarantees.

Do you have experience with Linux or, specifically, Arch?
You might learn more by experimenting yourself.

Oh, and choose your hardware wisely. By picking a product with bad support you make your linux experience unnecessary misearble.

The problem here is mostly on these integrated solutions that are in the motherboards (or laptops).

OEMs tend to use these realtek etc chips and there is not much the user can do or even realise that they don’t really have good linux support.

Is an USB stick

It was more of general remark, but yes it also relates to the “usb dongles”

A colleague from the Garuda forum wrote the following:

From looking around online It seems mediatek is considered a problematic card in linux world. I tried to look for its drivers online and it seems linux doesn’t have any support for it right now neither in 6.6.y nor in 6.7.y kernel/git/stable/linux.git - Linux kernel stable tree I would assume this might take a while to arrive.

Also the same searches tell me that there was a recent wifi regression bug in kernels so there might be a longer delay. MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7927 - Network - Manjaro Linux Forum

Yup it seems they merged support for mt7925 News: Firmware for the mt7925 (WiFi 7) Chipset Posted · Issue #359 · morrownr/USB-WiFi · GitHub last week something that started development in august last year and lwn.net doesn’t even have any mentions of mt7927 so I believe it is certainly a while away.
