Why is KDE desktop so stuck?

My laptop CPU is AMD 8845H, and the graphics card is nvidia4060.Using the latest nvidia graphics drivers.Using the latest cachy os.

Every time I use the KDE desktop (Wayland), I feel that the KDE desktop is very laggy, and the desktop effect drops frames and stutters (e.g., magic lamp effect). Do you guys have this problem?
When I switched back to the GNOME desktop, thankfully, the system was finally silky smooth and smooth.

I would like to know why this is and how to fix it accordingly.

For me too. Gnome on wayland is super smooth.

I found out that kde wayland can’t use nvidia graphics. If you use an nvidia card, you will find that the desktop performance will be much lower than the core card that came with your cpu. This problem seems to be widespread in computers with mixed graphics cards. Devices that have only one graphics card do not seem to have this problem.

Finally a thread worthy of signing up lmao

I had similar issue on laptop with 4600H/1650ti when i connected it to external display. Apparently it have something to do with wrong gpu priority for KWin, so i overrode it manually by making /etc/profile.d/kde.sh and writing there

export KWIN_DRM_DEVICES=/dev/dri/card0:/dev/dri/card1

i don’t remember when i found this solution but i remember that i had to swap 0 and 1 to make it work.

but this also can be another problem since i have the same problem in GNOME and I don’t know how to fix it there

thankyou,sir
