i am upgrading to the newest version of nvidia driver : 550.78-1

i need to try using a different Wayland compositor, such as Sway or Wlroots, to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the issue is specific to Hyprland or a more general Wayland-related problem?

i have another question :slight_smile:

where is the file manager???

and i have install mission center and a gnome files app ( with flatpack )
but it is not in dark mode i look at arch help but nothing work ( like me :sob: )

When i tried Hyprland a while ago on my AMD laptop I had many issues with getting monitor to display the correct resolution. Trying to remember how i hade to write it to correct it…
Something like:

monitor=,preferred,auto,1
You can also try,
monitor=,1920x1080@144,auto,1

Ps,
I can’t wayland to work good at all om my PC with an 3070 in it, a lot of flickering windows, odd mouse behavior and so on. Some graphical issues where solved by forcing monitor to use 60hz (still hade alot o flickering though).

where is the file manager

From what i can remember, Hyprland don’t come with one by default but i used LF, an terminal file manager [ https://github.com/gokcehan/lf ] . Didn’t use any graphical ones but you can just search and find one that works for you.

Hi and welcome :slight_smile:

You need to change the resolution and refresh rate manually in the hyprland config as @Petsod already wrote.

You need to install the file manager at hyprland manually. Either thunar or dolphin should be fine to use.
It takes a bit to get into Hyprland tho, it is not really suggested for starters. CachyOS does ship just a base configuration for it.

@Petsod
The flickering issues, which you face should be mostly resolved on CachyOS. We are shipping a modified xwayland, which fixes the flickering.

In the next weeks there should be also a new nvidia driver released, which implements explicit sync. This should resolve then most outstanding issues.

According NVIDIA the beta driver should be released at around May 15. As soon it is released we will do some internal testing and then it will be directly pushed to the users.

thank you and you know what we said “Better late than never”. I really want to try arch linux and wayland with hyprland. I think cachy os is one of the more simple and user friendly with many reconfigured displays.
