Why Cachy-Updates cancels all packages' updates if a single package has an issue?

I ran Cachy-Update, it detected a couple of packages and during the update one package depended in another, so it canceled the whole update, instead of just taking that one package out of the equation.

Why this temporary soft-lock exists for unrelated packages?

I might be wrong but I think that would be pacman’s protection mechanism against partial upgrades.

You either upgrade all the packages installed on a system or you upgrade none. That is to say, all the packages should roll together and the system as a whole.

Partial upgrades are unsupported.

Putting your system in an unsupported state should require clear and obvious internention, should you insist on doing so.

I feel like we have already gone over exactly this scenario because originally you thought that you only got part of it ..

In those discussions it was described that doing otherwise would be delivering broken partial-upgrades.

So bailing out on the entire exchange is the correct and desirable thing.

Insert link for partial-upgrade again because why not;
