I use Qwant after trying lots of them.
It might has to do with getting out of Google s !

startpage is my favorit and in use

Lol, you bet @hotte , StartPage s pretty good also, I ve been using it a while ago, changed for the heck of it I guess.
Oh, I didn t knew that about SearchXNG @Mwa
Google search, rare Linux user that doesn’t care about privacy, just like the speed.
For me, Google has been trash this last year. I have to get to the second page to get past the Ads or suggested links. I have had better luck with Brave Search or, I know I will get blasted for this, but Bing has been great this last year. Maybe it is the all seeing eye of Co-Pilot, which I also use, mainly at work. LOL
Google works fine for me, relevant results on the 1st page. Linux users are paranoid Google is keeping a vast file on them that will bar them from employment in the future. I like to think we all aren’t that important.
I use Google, but recently I think chat model is becoming my second search engine.
Mostly startpage.
And also recently, and more frequently: you.com
(The latter is similar to ChatGPT, but does not require registration and is said to place more emphasis on data protection.)
emphasis on data protection.
Not rlly that private btw according to hugginchat i went through their privacy policy
you can use hugginchat as a alternative, its really nice used open source llms + vision ability plugin
here is me summarizing cachyos since i thought it was appropriate
I just tested that… the third question came up with:
“You have reached the guest message limit, Sign In with a free Hugging Face account to continue using HuggingChat.”
So unfortunately it’s not possible without registering (and therefore without disclosing a certain amount of data, and it’s obviously more inconvenient to have to log in every time to chat; and of course they can collect a lot of data about me that way, as I reveal a lot about myself through my questions)!
