Hi everyone! I have dabbled a bit with different distributions in the past, but CachyOS is my longest running venture yet. 292 days and counting! Installed it with KDE Plasma, then installed Omarchy on top of CachyOS with Hyprland and now Iām running Sway. Itās my main rig which is mostly for gaming, music production and coding. Itās working a lot better than Windows (which is now uninstalled by the way). I couldnāt be happier!

Just wanted to drop a quick hello to the community. Iāve been a long-time Linux user, spending years on openSUSE as my main driving environment.
Recently, I decided to give CachyOS a spin, and manā¦ Iām deeply impressed. The optimization, the responsiveness, and how smooth everything runs out of the box is just next level. The migration was a breeze, and Iām already feeling right at home here.
Kudos to the devs for such amazing work! Looking forward to hanging around the forums and learning more from you guys.

Hi, I am a Graphic designer, 49 yo, I am from Mexico City, Ive been a macOS user for quite sometime, but I started using an 8086 IBM computer on work, but my dad brought me an Atari 65XE back before and we used to copy the basic programs on the manual, but I did not continue on that line of work and went to arts and some advertising, I begun my graphic designer work on Corel Draw on Windows, so as you can imagine when I discovered the Macintosh I got hooked up, my first Mac was an iMac G3 Graphite .Lately I have been interested on Linux, my first approach was Ubuntu, were I try a few flavors on an old MacBook Pro 2011 but now that officially Apple has discontinued intel macs, and owning the last MacBook Pro with intel from 2019 that will not support Golden Gate, Im very serious about migrating m work to linux, how ever I havent found Affinity software on the opensource so Im trying the onces I find, If you can suggest some, will appreciate.

Iām from Texas and a long-time Windows user (from 98 all the way to 11). Back in January I finally made the jump to Linux with Pop!_OS. I really liked it, but it felt a bit buggy, so a few weeks ago I decided to try CachyOS with KDE Plasma.
Manā¦ what a difference. Zero bugs, zero headaches, and everything just works ā especially gaming. My Linux knowledge is still pretty terrible, but I havenāt had a single issue.
The final push away from Windows was Starfield. I dropped around $1000 upgrading my hardware just to run it smoothlyā¦ only for a Windows update to tank it down to 6 fps in cities. That was the last straw. I swore Iād never go back, and so far I havenāt regretted it for a second.
Huge thanks to the CachyOS team ā this is easily the best OS Iāve used since Windows XP (and honestly better in my opinion).
I originally came here because I saw a scary YouTube video about the AUR situation and panicked. After reading the forum and doing some checks, Iām relieved I wasnāt affected. Big thank you to the whole community for jumping in and helping everyone out. This forum is an awesome resource and Iām looking forward to learning from you all.
