So, i just downloaded cachy os and my mouse is acting up, for some reason when i right click the mouse, the menu pops up straight up instead of popping up when you release right click, this is causing a lot of problems while using my browser, i want it such that holding right click selects things and releasing it brings up the menu. How can I fix this? Im using kde plasma btw
This is not a CachyOS bug.
I have this bug in similar distros too.
Until the bug is fixed, I’m using the touchpad and mouse simultaneously to copy text.
Is this really a bug? It seems like intended behaviour to me, on Linux atleast.
When I google the “right click pops up menu and activates option that is selected on release” thing it always has the same answer, it is default behaviour on Linux. Windows does it differently where the menu pops up on release.
The further to the right you right-click on the screen, the higher the chance of working with the context menu.
But that is not a solution.
One solution would be to say goodbye to Google and all web browsers that use their engine.
Even if it is intended behaviour, surely there’s a way to change it right?
I’m afraid naim is right in his statement.
If it were a bug, it should be fixed with the latest update. But it isn’t.
No, Google Chrome is not open source. Much of the code for Google Chrome comes from the Chromium project, which is open source; however, Chrome is a free, closed source development.
I can confirm that this is not a cachy os / kde plasma bug, after testing it out on gnome, it would seem that this problem only affects browsers such as brave(based off chromium) on linux. This issue was causing me to click on random items on the context menu when I right clicked using my touchpad.
Google Chrome is working properly again since the update to 133.0.6943.53-1 .
Unfortunately, the error still occurs occasionally.
So, open the context menu near the right edge of the screen.
If that is not possible, e.g. copying/cutting text in the translator, two input devices must be used at the same time.
@Arklock, would it be OK if I changed the thread title to:
Google Chrome makes things harder for Linux users or something like that?
