Use Zen Browser as a more cutting-edge base for a "Next" version of Cachy Browser

Consider building on Zen Browser as the base for a “Next” version of Cachy Browser, which will allow for a more modern experience with features that enable better productivity.

(And collaborating now at an early stage with the developers of that browser will allow you to mutually empower each other by creating a closer relationship.)

I attach the repository on Git-Hub where you can review. The developers are more actively in their Discord group.

I do not fully understand, I also wrote in the github issue.

Zen Browser is a very young project and still in an early development stage and has far to go, to get fully stable and polished.
I am in contact with the Zen Developer - but besides its theming there is more or less no difference, besides a less hardened config as well as patches.

Cachy browser does follow privacy and the default firefox theming. The Developer Edition already got a side bar, so there will be changes too in the future.

Also, Zen browser currently crashes, due violating the explicit sync protocol.

Thanks for the comments, I will also try the Developer Edition of CachyBrowser.

I have seen his response on github, and I copy my comment here as well.:

Thanks for the prompt reply. And I understand that you only prefer to focus your efforts on the technical elements since they are more crucial for optimal functioning for the majority of people.

I also appreciate that you give space to Zen Browser in your repositories, since the lack of customization and productivity elements, while not preventing the use of browsers, can be decisive in people’s use, as has been demonstrated by the success in the adoption of browsers such as “Vivaldi”, “Edge”, “Arc”, “Sidekick”, and to a lesser extent “Ulaa” (from Zoho Corp.), Stack browser, and Wavebox, which are all Chromium-based (as are Ferdium-type application launchers, which are all Blink/Chromium-based).

Currently only Floorp is bringing this to Firefox-based browsers, and I have been using it for about a year, however its development pace is slow, and many things have not been fully achieved.

Zen browser, however, has quickly allowed for split tabs (which has already been adopted by Floorp), a sidebar that integrates web panels in a more usable way, and more functional management of workspaces (as well as a more fluid and polished display of the interface).

Anyway, I appreciate the consideration, and everything you’ve done with CachyOS. Regards :handshake:.

But does Cachy browser work on Windows?

Gladly not

Well, it should be considered that Zen Browser is currently in Alpha version, but it implements many interesting things. Obviously, it is not as consolidated as Cachy Browser. Even so, in Cachy Browser you can easily get a look similar to Zen Browser (I shared the image a long time ago on Discord).

(Yes, is Cachy Browser)

I tend to jump from one topic to another, the internet is too stimulating for me, but I seem to remember that I managed to make a bash script to apply the aesthetic changes to Cachy Browser, but I don’t remember if I still have the script.

It was a happy surprise to see you involved in Zen’s Github and Discord :people_hugging:
