Hey everyone! I’m new to linux and I have been fully enjoying CachyOS. I’ am having an issue where my headsets wireless dongle will go undetected (sometimes) after rebooting. If I unplug and plug the device back it, it will become detected and works perfectly.
Ive been banging my head against the internet trying to find a solution but I think this far exceeds my ability to rectify. If anyone can offer some insight or help into resolving this I’d be eternally grateful!
However, if this is the price to pay for leaving Windows OS behind then so be it! Thanks again!
yea i have same issue with mouse - i ve come up with a goofy bypass for myself. If my keyboard has rgb on then the mouse wont work on booting up. If i move mouse around during boot, the mouse will be active/working when it boots up. Sorry cant help you with headphones.
Now that i think about it. I think it might be a priority of activation or something - cause when i swapped between the usb holes my keyboard has been always working on boot. Before i had keyboard on other hole and then it was keyboard that didnt want to work upon starting up.
But now its ONLY mouse sometimes. Keyboard always working.
I think I have a similar problem as your mouse, as long as my headset is connected to the dongle on reboot it will detect and restablish the connection. But if I boot and the headphones are off the dongle will remain undetected and I will have to pull it in and out to get it back.
Could this be the result of some kind of power saving option? I’m on a desktop if it matters so power saving shouldnt be an issue but who knows /:
i did a little testing - around 10 boots ( i have 0! mouse and keyboard software installed razers, msi etc) both mouse and keyboard have RGB. Everytime i press key on my keyboard to turn RGB OFF DURING boot (before the selection screen of cachyLTS or normal boot ! ) once the cachyLTS screen is passed i can activate RGB again and everything works perfectly. - booting with systemd
Just in case anyone comes across this in the future, I have found plugging in my headphones to the USB port directly and having them turned on (in this instance) while rebooting allows the dongle to remain connected and then I simply unplug the USB-C cord and they work fine wirelessly. I know this isnt an ideal solution especially if your actually using wireless devices because your computer is far away and the cords are unable to reach. But hopefully it can help you find a further solution or save time troubleshooting!
I’m having the same issue with my Corsair HS80 wireless headset: I have to unplug and replug the USB dongle every time I boot up for CachyOS to detect it.
Could you tell me what I can do to fix this problem?
I really like this distribution and I’d rather not switch to another one where it works right out of the box.
