Unsupported software: 0 A. D

The building game 0 A.D. no longer runs.
The error occurred about 4 days ago after an update and is kernel-wide, distro-wide (KDE) and hardware-wide (tested on two different devices) and therefore has nothing to do with CachyOS.

The game still runs on a Garuda KDE lite that hasn’t been updated for a long time.

Does anyone have any ideas other than waiting and observing developments?

Are you trying to build it?

I don’t know how to do something like that

As I said, the game runs on an outdated system.
This is just a workaround, but it works.

How do you know it’s not a Cachy issue? You have another device with a different distro where it doesn’t work?

You need to wait until they realize it doesn’t work anymore. You could try to open an issue on the arch linux gitlab, but to get an account you have to send an email, I don’t know how long does that take.

You could try to build it from aur or just use the flatpak version which is the simplest solution.

yes the bug was fixed with Fix segfault with openal-1.24.0 · bb1910ff4c - 0ad - Wildfire Games, distribution maintainers or anyone building a26 from source can cherry-pick that commit to support >=openal-1.24.0. The next release will include the fix.

I would ve never tought that a sound app would ve caused this issue on your end ( & others also) @Sunda-Spirit
