Unjustly perma banned from cachyos discord - last thread locked without resolution

Please move on from further discussions around this topic.

The provocative nature and agenda within this thread is unsettling.

Eh, itā€™s not really my fight but a little clarification would be helpful so that the users know if they are using a far right OS or not. I donā€™t really feel comfortable using a far right OS that supports trans erasure, so it would be good to know if this upcoming weekend includes a clean install onto another Linux distro for myself or not.

Iā€™ve been using Linux off and on until since the 90s, and I feel like it wasnā€™t really suitable for anything but a print server or programming until the trans people fixed the 3D graphics. We should be grateful to them for enabling us to get off Windows 100%, not erasing them.

As far as I am concerned CachyOS is a neutral Distro, welcoming to all.

However this does not mean users should partake in little battles on right vs left, the situation that happened surrounding this ban escalated because unfortunately moderators were not around to defuse the situation before it got out of hand.

Users did try to calm the situation but neither participant wanted to step back, you canā€™t help people that arenā€™t willing to help themselves.

One user did take it too far and upset another user, tempers were high but moderation was unavailable to mediate the situation.

Politics always results in an ugly mess.

So instead of continuing on with the topic, move on from it.

Leave the political and controversial topics out of discussions and all will be a peaceful place.

Iā€™m willing to move on, agreed that politics is a waste of time. But human rights is not quite the same thing as politics. If the userbase and the devs are far right and anti human I would like to know so that I can move on. I am not making this claim as I donā€™t know their hearts, but a little clarification would be good.

Thatā€™s fair. Iā€™m sure you will find CachyOS dev team very welcoming to all people as for the userbase from what I have seen and been involved in itā€™s been great, bad actors can always find their way into any community but they are shown the door if they choose to overstep.

Thatā€™s what I originally thought as well, but the super strict control of basic ideas on the forum has now lead me to believe otherwise. Personally, I donā€™t think any computer guy wants to go viral for trans anything, which is what I think is going on here and donā€™t really want it discussed. If itā€™s a little more sinister I think the community deserves to know though.

As far as being shown the door goes, there are tons of Linux distros to use and I donā€™t think anyone cares besides Grongle, lol.

I guess the solution is for me to delete my forum account here. I have to deal with enough far right tech bros at work, no point in interacting with people with limited real life social experience and anger if you arenā€™t being compensated for it.

I just checked and of course the box to delete your own account here is disabled, lul, so I will just log out. Good luck on the OS, no hard feelings, just donā€™t feel like dealing with these types of attitudes for free.

Yes, this sums it up quite nicely. @Bebo , your now deleted post was highly inappropriate. I wouldnā€™t know what you think, but other people (including me) was quite uncomfortable and put off reading that block of text.

This thread was originally meant for some resolution on Grongleā€™s ban, so Iā€™m not sure how it strayed to dating. Iā€™m locking this thread now. Going forward, if any users want to resolve their personal issues, e.g. bans, etc, I think itā€™s recommended to message the mods directly instead of creating public threads where things can go off-topic. Thanks.
