Typing on the keyboard after CachyOS has started does not bring up the login screen

Hello. I’m a total Linux noob—sorry about that. I’m new to this after 30 years of using Windows (my first version was Windows 3.11). I love CachyOS, but a recent update—and I have no idea which one, of course—has changed how the login screen works.

Before, after turning on the computer, I’d see the login screen with the time displayed. I’d start typing my password, and the login field would appear with my characters hidden.

Now, when I start typing, nothing happens… at least on the surface. The password field doesn’t appear. I have to press Enter or click with my mouse for it to appear. And then I see that my keystrokes have indeed been registered.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks, team!
