Make new installs feel like home in seconds.

Transfuse will let you easily copy and/or compress desktop configurations and more from one user or system and apply it to another.

Optionally supports exporting and applying native and foreign package lists as well.

While package lists are dependent on the pacman package manager all other functions should be agnostic - meaning you can create or apply backups from Arch to Ubuntu, from Ubuntu to CachyOS, CachyOS to CachyOS, or just about any other trajectory.

Wow, absolutely amazing work and well done, appreciate your efforts with this great Bash script. I had started something like this a couple of times in the past, so I know how much work you must have put into this.

Suggestion: add an option to chose backup path / dir

Just out of curiosity: wouldn’t it suffice to just copy my home dir including all hidden folders and maybe /usr/local/share from one system to the next to have all my KDE settings back in place?

Yes , i did yesterday from 2 different cathy os installation in 2 different hard disk. it works, you need only to reboot after, and fix a couple of stuff in dolphin for example since the home directory has a different user name . Not the quickest and the cleanest solution, it is viable though.

Transfuse has now been updated with some minor improvements and has been deemed worthy to emerge out of rc status.

Of course you can get the latest version at the same gitlab project link above.

Even though we think its good enough for release the suggestion box is still always open. :blush:
