Throttled SSD throughput and Input/Output error on 7.1.1-2 with Samsung 990 Pro

After upgrading from 7.0.12-1 to 7.1.1-2, started seeing very slow throughput on writes and occasional system halts with Input / Output errors on a Samsung 990 Pro. Downgrading the kernel, headers, and nvidia-open back to 7.0.12-1 has fixed the problem, so I don’t need a solution, just reporting a potential regression.

What file system do you have on this drive? Which kernel are you running? Please send the output of inxi -Faz

Filesystem is btrfs with the default subvolume layout; currently running 7.0.12-1-cachyos, the problem was occurring with 7.1.1-2-cachyos; inxi output follows. Again, I am stable on 7.0.12, and I am happy to wait and try the next kernel version, but I thought this might be helpful information.

You may have encountered a regression in Btrfs. I actually updated my NAS server to kernel 7.1 just yesterday, and it has been working perfectly ever since and continues to do so. I haven’t noticed any regressions in read/write speeds. But I’m running bcachefs on it. Try the linux-cachyos-server kernel just in case—there’s a very small chance that the regression might be due to incompatibility with cachyos-specific things.
