Due to recent updates cachyos emerland color in plasma style is not working with cachyos nord which used to work perfectly. Panels and bottom taskbar background is getting milk white or grey on system-wide dark theme.
Fix.
Yeah, this is really obnoxious. I had the perfect theme for me, and it made the app launcher text unreadable unless I change all the text.

So the theme is very much unmaintained and with deprecated constructs.
But I did quickly fix it in that other thread and I actually still have the fixed version sitting around if you want it ..

I might repeat again that if it is just going to languish that it should just be removed from the repos, IMHO.
Though if someone confirms the above version works well enough then I will make a PR so it is corrected for everyone.

I offered a fixed example.
I could make a pull request using that bundle if someone says it works well enough.
But otherwise - lacking interest or confirmation or whatever - then I believe the package should wholesale be removed from the repos and any related media it may be contained in. You know. Because its current state is broken and it has not been updated for 4 years with even the basic requirements of modern theming standards.
I do not understand what your consternation is?
We have a broken package that I have nothing to do with.
I give you an option to keep using it, due to my own volunteered effort, even though its broken for everyone else. And even though I do not use it or care for it.

You offered nothing concrete to end users other than your stated example which most users dont know how to implement or even understand else they would have replied to this month old topic!

Why not just fix it.
Does not matter if a repo has not been updated even in a decade,
if its time to fix it, Fix it.

why not just make a pull request, make necessary changes, test it thoroughly and push it to the main repo. Shall likely take less than couple of hours if you are proficient enough.
I did but no one said it is good enough so I did not want to make a PR with something untested - again I dont use the theme I just noticed its obvious broken parts.
Also I do not control the repositories.
But now instead of a PR I just made some issues asking for it to be removed.
So thats the end of that. I will no longer attempt to contribute or assist with anything related to emerald unless formally asked by the devs.

better to be graceless if you are not even making your volunteering time worthwhile, why else do it at all and be concerned abot external stuff and even to reply.

Whatever .. in a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy your attitude has proved it was indeed not worth my time or effort to have done anything related to that theme. I should never have fixed it. I should never have uploaded that fix to share with you. And I should never have engaged.
So now its not going to be contributed.
The original solution was just going to be to remove the deprecated and unmaintained theme. That was the right thing to do.
Instead I volunteered to fix it. And did.
Even though I do not use it.
But I have now been convinced I should not care.
So I have instead reverted to the original, and still correct, course and asked for the package to be removed.
Maybe someone else will fix it instead. But I no longer have any interest.
