Tablet Pen Shortcuts Being Released On Contact

Getting more comfortable to move off of Windows, but right now one of my final hurdles is getting everything I need from my pen tablet input. I have an XP-Pen Artist 10 (Gen 2), and I like to have the buttons on the stylus mapped to navigation: Space bar for dragging and panning, and Ctrl+Space to zoom drag.

After getting the driver set up properly, I notice that while holding one of these shortcuts it’ll “flicker” once I start to drag with the pen on the tablet. It looks like while I’m holding one of the pen buttons down, the moment it makes physical contact with the tablet, it quickly releases and presses again my mapping, and that’s causing issues with using it. Sometimes it works with a bit of delay, but other times I drag to pan around and instead its registered my movement while the shortcut was virtually released and draws an unintended stroke.

This happens with both the driver provided by XP-Pen, and with OpenTabletDriver. I didn’t experience this at all while on Windows. And it also seems that shortcuts mapped to the buttons on the tablet itself don’t cause this issue, so It’s just with the stylus shortcut buttons combined with pressure being registered.
