Starting the user session in GNOME has become really slow. Sometimes the systemd user start would timeout and be completely broken, i.e. systemctl --user status would return error and flatpak apps would not work. Shutdown and suspend is also slow.
Also it takes about 30s to minutes to (re-)connect WIFI at boot or after suspend. I tried with no success: disabling gnome shell extensions, uninstalling unused apps, uninstalling all flatpak apps, refreshing keyrings, disabling finger print authentication and reinstalling all packages.
Log: 3def1ef (notice the gap between 12:27:32 and 12:27:51).
Update: the problems are gone using the 6.12.23-2-cachyos-lts kernel. This is the log without the issues: f5f1a53
Have you already tried booting with an alternative kernel?
Now I did and the problems are gone with 6.12 LTS! I didn’t expect this to be a kernel issue. I updated the post and added the not affected log as comparision.
Did you make this suggestion based on other affected users?
I don’t think it’s a kernel problem either, because the second log contains the same errors as the first.
But the main thing is that your system is running again
No, I haven’t researched that at all. Changing the kernel would be my first step if these problems affected me.
A professional should take a look at the logs; unfortunately, I can’t help here.
The issue was fixed after updating to Linux version 6.14.3-2-cachyos (linux-cachyos@cachyos) (clang version 19.1.7, LLD 19.1.7) #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Sun, 20 Apr 2025 17:51:21 +0000 (or another package that came with the update, but none seemed important)
