Hello!
I’ve been using COS for a couple weeks and i’ve noticed strange flickers on some specific situations, those are:
- If i open an image in fullscreen and dont touch the mouse, the screen will flicker and randomly stay black until i move the mouse again
- The same happens if i try to watch a video in fullscreen on the browser (only tried firefox)
- When i try to take a screenshot and i select the area tool in KDE Plasma
- Gaming has fps drops followed by screen flickers
The strange thing is, that if i change to GNOME, they disappear completely, but they remain (that i’ve tested) on KDE Plasma under wayland and Hyprland.
Does anyone have the same issue? Or can help me in some way?
My hardware is
Laptop model: Asus ROG GL502VMK
CPU: I7 7700HQ (IGPU disabled by manufacturer, idk why asus would do such thing)
GPU: NVidia GTX 1060 Mobile with 6GB VRAM
RAM: 16GB 2400MT/s
DISKS 256GB main SSD + 1TB secondary HDD
Edit: Ok, seems the plasma issue was adaptive sync, disabled it and all the flickering is just gone
