Is it better to use Steam Native or Steam Runtime?
Which is better in terms of performance and compatibility?
I just searched for this myself and the consensus is you want to be using Runtime.
Runtime uses the packages that Steam provides. The same packages and dependencies that the rest of Steam users use. So across the board you should get similar performance/behavior.
Native uses the native installed packages/dependencies which can vary and change how the games perform.
Something I’ve been running into recently has been my entire OS freezes sometimes when I run Steam. I can move the mouse, but I can’t click anything, can’t Alt-Tab, can’t use the super key, etc. Have you had this experience?
Native (since cachyos is known to compile stuff for Performance) Runtime (if Native has issues)
