So, about that Firefox news

Is the Cachy browser safe from Mozilla’s latest terms of service? I dug through the settings and telemetry has been turned off, I’m just wondering how deep they’re going to add these “features”.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, the fight for privacy was lost long ago with Phil Zimmerman and PGP in the 90s. Now the government has traffic shaping software at every ISP that puts everything you do in a neat little file and reports it to whoever wants to know anyway. In the future, if not now this will probably affect if people hire you or not. I’m sure the big corporations can get that data at will.

What does it matter, when firefox (or its forks) are the best option we have, right now, and for some LONG time already. Read any other of the browser EULA… google chrome? HA! Brave? De-googled chromium still gives me the yuks.

It needs to be looked into, which exact changes are applied. The TOS commit itself does not change anything on the telemetry, but we will work together with librewolf to find a proper way removing these.
