Ship pamac-gtk3 as well?

It fits better in KDE Plasma than the libadwaita version, as the Breeze gtk3 theme applies to it. It’s also default in Manjaro KDE.

It would be better not having any version of pamac at all.

It is not a pacman frontend and has various problems besides.

To add to @cscs , pamac is made specifically to work with Manjaro. It is known to therefore break non-Manjaro distros. The only fully-supported general-purpose GUI package manager on Cachy is octopi, with plain CLI pacman/aur helpers preferred.

It wasn’t, I asked for something different

I’ve been using Pamac for years on Arch distros, it had stopped working only twice or thrice. It’s still the best GUI, Octopi is horrible, Bauh is deprecated, there’s the new “Guiman” but it hasn’t been touched for a few months and the team is 4 people. I understand why it isn’t the default option, but I appreciate that it’s in the repos for those who decide that they want to use it, and for consistency I’m only suggesting that the gtk3 version is added there as well.

If CachyOS overhauls the Package Installer or makes an integration with Discover/Gnome Software, maybe there will be no need for it, but until then it’s the most useful tool for me and other people who want to search and manage packages across all sources via a few clicks.
