Rekordbox / how to make a Pioneer USB

Hi there,

Fully CachyOS / Arch noob here.

I’ve recently committed to getting rid of all big tech and only buy second hand if I absolutely have to. Hence, here I am on Linux.

As a DJ, I want to create a USB that works on Pioneer decks (even though I own a different brand). The decks seem to refuse any tracks, playlists, etc that aren’t exported through Rekordbox. I’ve tried using Mixxx and MIXO to no success. Lexicon is not available for Linux. Rekordbox doesn’t work on Wine (freezes on the welcome screen). Does anyone have a suggestion / figured it out?

According to WineHQ, the latest release doesn’t work at all, but if you can get version 6.8.4, it got a silver rating https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=12290 . So that’s one possibility for you. Otherwise you could try using one of the various protons (regular, cachy, or ge). They carry more fixes than default wine does and can help.

maybe this can help too:

No luck unfortunately. I’m now trying with a VM running Windows 10. Hopefully that’ll do it!
