Hi, i have a Corsair Sciimitar RGB Elite MMO mouse and I play SWTOR, the mouse works great for every game I’ve played except SWTOR (Star Wars The old Republic). I was wondering if there was a recommended hardware list that would be good for CachyOS and Gaming, i.e. mechanical keyboard and MMO mouse that would be the most fluid with the Operating System. I don’t mind buying new equipment, I wore out my Corsair mechanical keyboard, and need a new one anyway.
Just don’t want to buy equipment that isn’t going to work well with gaming which is what I primarily use my computer for.
Loving CachyOS, learning to mod and so far I haven’t broken it or had a game not work, and work well. It’s nice not to be spied on by Microsoft so… Anyway just wondering if there was a guide to correct gear to get for this OS that will compliment it well.
Keyboards anything with VIA/QMK support should work great in Linux. (I use an epomaker)
Razer products have great support via reverse engineered drivers and apps (polychromatic gives me full control of my basilisks pro) which support almost all razer products
Logitech has decent support via solaar.
most things should work out of the box but customization and firmware updates are sometimes hard if not at all possible on Linux (need windows to update my keyboard and mouse)
Made in the US. open source firmware and software. Great keyboard. Get away from Corsair and Razor and crap like that. They are more concerned with marketing than quality. Hundreds of keyboard manufacturers to chose from.
Those are a ripoff lol and system76 isn’t known for good customer service which at that price, you want. Better off with an chiniseum Amazon brand and get Amazon return policy for 1/5th the cost.
How are they a ripoff? And this Launch keyboard is awesome. And I’ve had nothing but good customer service. So good, I will buy from them again soon. Yet there you are talking about boards made in china or taiwan. lol
my epomaker board was 1/8th of the price and looks better than a Corsair clone with a weird spacebar lol
I have expensive keyboards too but they aren’t overpriced like those ones lol
i’m sorry your racism is showing about products made in China and Taiwan, where the majority of your PC comes from and chances are the over priced components in that freedumb board.
Criticizing, avoiding, or boycotting a modern political entity (ex: a current Nation-State) is not a racism.
Holding a bias about peoples would be.
That said the OPs question is answered and some flame war about (non-technical) purchasing preferences between 2 others here, and after-the-fact, is inappropriate .. especially as it seems it is only getting further out of hand.
