I have no idea what happened here. After I updated my computer today, when I went to reboot, there was an issue with swap space and zram. This is a big problem because for somee God forsaken reason, if it fails, I have no working audio drivers or wifi/bluetooth drivers. Even USB tethering fails! to provide an internet connection. System logging stopped working. I can’t figure out what went wrong. Either way, I have no possible way of updating it beyond having to do a cheroot. I am at a loss on what I can do from here. This is like 15th time this sort of no wifi problem I have had to deal with in the past 7 months. It is driving me insane. I just might have to take my computer to have a professional from microcenter to check out what’s going on and whether it can be fixed.
Mhm, that sounds unlikely. Immo, on my machine as well as 3 servers after the update it is working well.
Are you sure, you did not modify any configuration or equal?
I found the problem. Grub got f***ed up after the update. update-grub is failing due to grub being directed towards non existent directories and something about grub.new is in the error message. One thing is that instead of it looking for /boot it instead searches for //boot which uh yeah what the hell. Long story short, it failed to update grub when I ran the update at that point. That could explain why things are not working. my system is stuck between loading some older modules and some newer modules. Now what am I supposed to do at this point because I need to either fix the grub issue or find a way to switch to systemd boot.
edit: Let me work on getting you a screen shot. I will take the screen shot on the linux PC, move it to my phone, than I will upload it to my Google drive, from there I will transfer it from my google drive. It is a convoluted way to do it but I have no operating Linux computers at the moment, besides my chrome book.
My problem is even worse. I have a broken dracut initramfs set up where it is basically split between the cachy one and the old one that I was using before hand. It keeps compiling the old kernel after the newest ones. For some reason my boot entries are not getting updated. Man this is a pain In the ass! I feel stupid for ever using the dracut thing from the aur. It has royally screwed the boot loader! Definitely gonna need professional help sorting this tangled mess out.
Sorry, dracut is not supported by CachyOS. If you configure it on your own, that it appears your problem.
I can not really help there, since I dont know your modifications. Also, youre the only report so far.
