I’m unable to do anything after updating the system to 6.1.5 update after which upon rebooting I’m only able to login and see the desktop open the application launcher but when I try to open any apps/setting either from the panel or launcher I get this
Im only able to boot the system and force shutdown
Relevant info of the system

Similar issues on fedora kde and openSUSE kde so seems to be KDE issue
also kali kde on wayland broke so have to use x11
could you try if it is working on x11 so if it is then it is kde/wayland issue
unfortunately same result on x11

Use Btrfs snapper and install grub-btrfs-snapper package ( it helps in case of a bad update it allows you to select a recent working state and boot up from it )

I’m such a sucker…LOL
I bit the bullet for plasma-unstable (KDE)
All looks pretty darn good so far, everything seems to work at a glance.
DE: KDE Plasma 6.1.90
WM: KWin (Wayland)
Terminal: konsole 24.8.1
And X11 is also good on my end.

A vague guess: it could be that the virtual RAM is full.
Could you please provide the output of df -h
?
Do you use Snap and/or Flatpak?
yes i was using libreoffice as a flatpak as sometime the native was having bug wherein the whole ui would be zoomed to say for example at 200% or so,
and also did a chroot using cachy-chroot
and added the beta kde repo and update after the update and exiting chroot reboot to the system but no luck same as before, as for providing df -h
i cleaned my current cachyos install will redo a reinstall

That seems weird. Could you run sudo cachyos-bugreport.sh?
I’m sorry to say but I did went with the reinstall the whole CachyOs route, will use the sudo cachyos-bugreport.sh in
future if it occurs again

Not the same issue, but came across this and figured out a plasma update broke krunner for me 8372ee0 seems to be a xcb issue.
Edit: For now I am going to try kde-unstable, and if there is any issue I can atleast go back to a snapshot
Edit2: Works as expected and previous reply to the sddm post no longer exist in this version. One complaint, much brighter heh.

Yep all good here as well.
I’m seeing the various breakage in other forums as well not just CachyOS.
Debian, Kubuntu and Neon

Tbh since cachyos is arch based and arch linux is bleeding edge it might cause breakage
