Recent update between feb2 and feb4 broke a lot of things (game related question)

So, besides discord, there’s something wrong happening here. One of the games I play the most is Vintage Story, and just this sunday it was working fine.

I had to update because of Discord, and when I did, it broke badly. Then when I checked the game, it also wasn’t working as intended without changes to it.

The game itself uses .net7 to run nowadays, and even with its own issues, Arch/Manjaro can still install that via their repositories. I did, and the game has been working fine since I first fulfilled all prerequisites.

Then after half a week of being sick and not really doing much on the pc, I tried to do things on the game and it worked just fine up until sunday night. Monday I updated Cachy because of discord, and that’s when everythign went downhill.

Here’s some of the game’s logs if anyone can grasp anything from them:

I’m not sure what else I should look for. Asked on the official forums but I need this working asap.

edit: Guess I also need to add; I’ve been getting some errors during system update and on startup too regarding usb devices.

And for the USB there were various messages similar to this usb 3-2: device descriptor read/64, error -110

Sorry to say I have no idea how to fix your issues but I get similar errors when updating with ==> WARNING: Possibly missing firmware for module: across two fully working devices so that probably isnt anything to worry about.

If you have an NVIDIA GPU you may be on an unstable driver so updating again might resolve the issue and fully reinstalling the game from scratch can for some strange reason sometimes help (have had an issue like that on two separate devices with steam)

I’m using full AMD, I did reinstall both the game and the .net7 requirement, and while the updates and boot errors seem to have disappeared, the game still refuses to work as intended
Discord is back at least.

Edit: I tested on another distro that’s still installed here, and as I feared the game files work perfectly. Something broke IN cachy OS during an update, and the last time I saw this happen on a Distro, I had to reinstall. Time to see if there are any snapshots to rollback to.
edit: nope, no snapshots. I hadn’t configured it :frowning: How else can I restore the OS?

Yes, this is due the glibc update.

Discord has been fixed.

Can you tell which game?

Vintage Story. Still broken, btw.

Please provide logs, when starting the game

Well, logs. Here we go:

Logs from the game, back in feb 4 when I first noticed the issue are in the initial post - the two proton links. I had to upload them to my drive since one of them is too big for pastebin.

I noticed glibc had another update, so I tried to update Cachy itself again.
Update logs:

After restarting, I tried to run the game again. Same behavior. Here are today’s logs for comparison.

If you need other or more specific logs, just tell me which ones and where to get them.
