Random window corruption/issues on KDE Plasma

Hello everyone!

I’m experiencing random window corruption/issues on my CachyOS KDE Plasma setup and I’m hoping someone might have some insight.

The problem occurs randomly on both my Intel + Nvidia desktop and my all-AMD laptop. Application windows suddenly get these rectangular artifacts or graphical glitches. The strange thing is that I can’t screenshot the issue – as soon as I try to take a screenshot, the window immediately fixes itself. Also, if I slightly move the affected window, it also seems to correct itself instantly.

I’ve heard that this can sometimes happen if you’re using custom window decorations. But I’m currently using the default Breeze theme, and the issue still persists.

One potentially useful detail: I’m using the Krohnkite KWin script for tiling. However, I’m not entirely sure if this is related – I think I had these artifacts even before installing it, but I can’t say for certain.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any ideas what might be causing this or how to debug it?

Thanks in advance for your answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. here is my cachyos-bugreport output.

My first thought is to disable Krohnkite and see if the issue persists or create another user account (if you only have one) and use that without Krohnkite and see if the issue happens there.

If anyone is still interested, this problems occurs when Squash animation of minimizing windows is used. To change this, use Kde Settings->Animations->Window minimize-> and set it to None or Magic Lamp.
