QT Linguist after latest update

Qt Linguist and some other Qt accessories were installed. After doing some reading I understand this is for programmers and I am not one. Should I keep this or try and remove it ?

“Qt Linguist is a tool used for adding translations to Qt applications, allowing translators to easily manage and translate text within the software.”

Usually when stuff like this is randomly installed by the system I would just leave it alone. It is probably a dependency for something else. In fact trying to remove them usually ends up not working because the system will tell you it is needed for dependencies.

If you want to hide it just right click the application menu (start menu), go to edit applications, under development click each QT entry and check the box called “Hidden Entry”. It will hide it from your applications menu so you don’t have to see it anymore but it will still be installed.

I use gnome desktop and i don’t see any edit application option when i right click. I see an app info tab but nothing to hide application.

Ugh, that’s my fault for some reason I always assume people are using KDE. I forget they can choose their desktop environment on CachyOS installation. Maybe gnome doesn’t have a application menu editor. I honestly know nothing about it I have always been a Cinnamon and KDE guy. If there is one it is usually found by right clicking the menu button. Could also be in settings.

Either way I would just leave the app alone. It probably is there for a reason. I don’t say this as a guess I say this from experience. I tried removing a application like this awhile back thinking “WTF do I need this for?” and thankfully the system stopped me and let me know it was there for other applications.

I was able to hide the applications with app hider extension. Thanks for the help.
