Plymouth hang on shut down

Merry Christmas.
Is there a way to remove Plymouth safety from my Cachy installation? Lately bring a lot issues , system freeze on start up or on shut down sometimes.
Thanks

As far as I know you can disable it on the kernel cmd line, or simply remove it from the system with pacman.

I think you can just remove the packages containing the word plymouth with octopi.

As installing them on an older install that didn’t use it, the packages auto configure the hooks and everything. So I’m pretty sure uninstalling the packages will remove everything without the need of manual intervention.

I just did. As I said, it removed are reconfigured everything perfectly.

Yes, it did.

There’s no need to waste everyone’s time, when the package already does everything automatically.

What you don’t understand, is that plymouth is installed like any other driver. When you install/uninstall it, the hooks update everything.

When you uninstall a driver that is added to your boot config, does it break your boot? No. That’s your answer of how it works.

Yes, correct. plymouth.enable=0 disablehooks=plymouth in your boot parameters.

I’m going to lock this thread as it somehow devolved into toxicity. I’ll blame myself for the poor moderation, happy holidays guys
