[Package Request] Emacs

Hi,

I’d like to request that Emacs be added back to the CachyOS repositories. I found a discussion in this forum post indicating that Emacs was previously included but was later removed. Re-adding Emacs would be great for many users who rely on this tool and wish to make use of the improvements brought by CachyOS.
Thank you for all the dedication and effort the team puts into maintaining and optimizing CachyOS. It’s an amazing distribution.

I don’t think it got fixed, but we can try.
Currently emacs from archlinux repository is used

Even if the same problem persists, I believe it’s worth a shot. Anyway, thank you for your consideration.

If you don’t mind building it yourself, I have a script here that downloads, configures, makes and installs it. It uses CFLAGS=native -02 so it’ll be built to your CPU’s specs.

Tweak the configuration settings to your taste :slightly_smiling_face:
