Dracut is up to version 103.1 in extra repo while cachyos repo version is 102.-15
Yes, I know. We are maintaining our own fork/scripts for dracut.
Package has been renamed to dracut-cachyos to avoid issues at migration from EOS.
To clarify, is it based on dracut-ng which is the newly continued fork of the original according to github? dracut on github was last updated in 2022 while dracut-ng on github has been receiving quarterly updates and just released one recently.
The cachy version will have all the features of the original right? I don’t think I would like it if it were some gutted variation of the original one. May I ask what led the Cachy team to consider using it? If I may, I suggest you include your own implementation of the rebuild-initramfs-dracut & rebuild-initramfs-dracut-hook package from the aur, to make it grub compatible. I had to install those packages to update my system kernel.
It is based on dracut-ng and contains scripts for UKI and co. The name is called dracut-cachyos.
