Hello guys, first of all just a heads up, I’m not a 100% newbie on linux but not well-versed either, just switched to Cachy a few months back.
Last night, I was making changes on my fstab to auto mount my NAS, I don’t recall doing anything else, but after rebooting to test fstab, my PC gets stuck on a black screen. I get the systemd bootloader, select CachyOS and then black screen. Doing a hard reboot multiple times and sometimes I get the OS. I notice though that my display goes on my second display. If I remove power and press the power button to drain power and then turn the PC on, I can get display on the main display. when I managed to boot into the OS, i tried a full system update but it didn’t fix it. I’ve tried editing systemd to boot into just command line, sometimes it works. And when I get into the OS, the screen is really wide, similar to what happens if Windows doesn’t have a display driver. I can confirm my Nvidia is detected by doing Nvidia-smi. I also commented the changes in fstab by adding # preceding the line just in case it is the issue but no dice. I’ve tried Googling and chatgpt but I can’t find solution.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
