NVMe persistent error

Hello!

So I feel like it kinda the weird place to ask that but I trust this place the most and I don’t where else to ask.

So I got this problem that I have been ignoring for, practically since I build this PC since early summer last year, and what it does? I don’t know, in GSmartControl I keep getting this 2 error log every boot.

Error 846 Command ID: 0014 LBA: 00000000000000000000 Invalid Field in Command
Error 845 Command ID: 001B LBA: 00000000000000000000 Invalid Field in Command

And from the little I was able to find about this problem was that they same to be maybe related to some kind of thing named Namespace? or something I don’t know honestly since I know next to nothing. I have been having this error since the start but I never really got any problem run my computer, so it doesn’t feel like it important but I still want to fix it if possible.

So could someone explain what is it? is it something important? Can it be fixed easily by a clueless person like me who like a 5 years old? Do I need to send my smartctl output for more information?

Edit: i forgot to mention but I did a short test a while back and the result said there was no problem should I do a long one too?

If all is good, I would just continue updateing the system.

For some understanding, This error is not specific to CachyOS; it is an upstream issue related to the NVMe drive’s firmware or the host system’s command interpretation.

The error code 0x8004 (According to my experience)(as decoded from 846) corresponds to “Invalid Field in Command” (NVME_SC_INVALID_FIELD), meaning a field in the NVMe command sent to the drive was invalid, reserved, or unsupported.

Please also run a bug-report for the team to look at.
For now please include this:

journalctl -b -1 | grep usb

If the Drive is internal omit | grep usb

should I just post all my log into a text blockquote? cause there like over 3100 line? and I can’t share a .txt, also it my internal drive(SSD) that run my OS, don’t know if I should call it something more specific.

I also kinda figure it was more my SSD then Cachyos which is why I said it kinda weird to ask here, but I genuinely don’t know where to ask for help and I did rather not ask reddit.

Sorry and thank you for trying to help and guide me here :folded_hands:

honestly that what I have been doing but it just bug me so hard for no reason.

Just run this then:

sudo cachyos-bugreport.sh

Return the link it gives you back here for the team to look over.

No worries it’s all an effort to help.
I’m just seeing some others that are failing to read, or the device’s firmware is not finding USB drive’s correctly.

But this by all accounts dose not seem to apply to you.

this should do?

This looks good so far

Type: Desktop Mobo: Gigabyte model: B650 EAGLE AX serial: N/A

Fairly current.

yeah I build my current pc around that time and I had updated the BIOS to the current one, cause I thought I had an issue with it because of a display bug, which was not in fact the BIOS but the monitor that I was using that was causing a display bug in the BIOS which is still weird to me.
