But why do it be like this? :sob:

I was honestly trying to point you to the relevant material when in between every hint there was some minor jab (“people skills lacking”, etc).
You also say you cant be expected to know these things. Of course not innately - that is one reason why the information was given to you. But that was not appreciated either.

Good day to you I guess.

Well, you know, now you actually are the admin of your system  I know that the Cachy website claims that Cachy is a beginner-firendly distro but it is not. It is an Arch derivative and therefore by definition it is one of the more expert-friendly distros. Not saying that a newbie cannot use it, but this meme exists for a reason:

Please don’t get this wrong. We are not trying to drive you away, actually we are really trying to help. But you need to be aware that by picking CachyOS, you picked a distro that requires a good deal of maintenance, which includes having to deal with things like *.pacnew files and the general willingness to work your way into the technical details of your operating system.

My hint: stick around here for a while, read the posts by others, try to understand their issues and the solutions and you will get a feeling on what you are dealing with when you are a Cachy user.

Installing (esp using the Calamares installer) Arch systems isn’t that difficult. Maintaining them long-term can be much more involved. All the posters here are correct.

Oh and another hint from a fellow newbie: create a “Linux diary” for all the changes you did to your system. This will help you to remember what happened to your system over time. I know this might sound weird, but I do this on every linux-system and it really helped me a lot already.
