Oh, because of known issues I always disable cloud saving with Noita. It has not been on this entire time.
Try this if you have gamescope installed:
LD_PRELOAD="" gamescope -S stretch -b -- %COMMAND%
It will run the game in its own container window and might help. Running the game windowed might also help according to some forum posts.
If you give gamescope niceness permissions it can give the game priority scheduling as well:
sudo setcap 'CAP_SYS_NICE=eip' "$(which gamescope)"
Iāll give these a try tomorrow, thanks again for all the suggestions.
@TastEPlasma Is your problem still on? Your post brought me back to Noita after at least half a year of hiatus and I really donāt see any performance hits on both CachyOS and EndeavourOSā¦
I noticed there was a thread about performance in some games in which people had been able to restore performance by reverting to a previous kernel version. However, before I could try that a new minor update came out, and after applying, her computer started running Noita fine. To my eyes still seems like it has minor hitches, but they are more like an occasional micro stutter instead of multiple seconds of half frame rate.
Worth noting that my main gaming rig ran Noita just fine the entire time. It appears to have been a very specific combo of her hardware and a kernel (and associated drivers) version.
Tangentially, I have been playing through Half-Life 2 on my main gaming rig, and was having an issue with the game suddenly becoming extremely choppy after an hour or so of gaming. Like single digit frame rate. The latest kernel update appears to have mitigated that issue as well, but I did change some other settings as well so I canāt be sure.
Nice to hear! Letās mark your answer the solution, shall we? I seem to develop a weird detest for unsolved threads, especially when it comes to Noita ![]()
PS: Have the Eye Messages been solved yet?
Havenāt looked into it recently, but last I heard no one had cracked it yet.
