Mullvad VPN Updated Version

So I opened the Mullvad VPN app and it prompted for update, I do yay but mullvad app version in cachy repo is version 2024.7-1 but the one in AUR is 2024.8-1. Do packages usually take some time to get into the optimized repository? I read the wiki and it seems the Cachyos Repo PKGBUILDS auto-compiles when there’s an update in AUR/Arch Repo.

When the maintainer ‘feels’ like updating it.

I am speaking for the AUR, but I suspect Cachy follows the AUR (but don’t know).
I have had my own issues with AUR updates. It may be life (they don’t have time), they may be testing, they may be working through issues, etc.

The weird thing here is AUR had the updated version, but not the cachy repo (Now, cachy repo also has the updated version).

I was under the impression that when AUR/Arch packages update, there would be scripts that auto-compiles for optimized repos. Maybe there’s a waiting period in between and/or set time intervals to run the scripts for better efficiency, but I don’t have much knowledge on these areas.

Unfortunately, I don’t have eyes inside the cachy process either :wink: Though I also assumed as you did, that periodic scripting caught things up?
It may still be as the AUR issues, compilation may have failed, etc.

Not sure if everything is automated but yeah that is how it should work (if I remember right from Peter explaining it). But there is always delay while the package builds and gets pushed to repos. And then sync of the repos takes time too (not long usually but anyway).

There can of course be a breakage in the building process which would delay the new version popping up on cachy repos.
