Microphone issues on Asus laptop

I lately made the switch from windows to linux, and i decided to go with CachyOS. Everything has been going mostly smoothly, until i tried out my microphone. I was testing it out in the Steam microphone test, and i couldn’t make out any distinct sounds, and there was also a very loud sort of wavy background noise, which suddenly turned into a solid wall of noise. I tried disabling the microphone boost, as i read from another forum post that it could be the cause, but it had no effect. I have a HyperX microphone headset, and the headset part works just fine, it’s only the microphone that is entirely unusable. I would appreciate any help for this situation

Specs:
Asus TUF F15

GPU: RTX4070 Laptop GPU

CPU: Intel i7

Soundcard: Realtek ( don’t know the exact model)

16 GB RAM

Thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT: It would appear that after letting the laptop sit overnight and powering it on the next day has resolved the issue, as now the microphone is as clear as it always was on Windows
