Latest update cause emergency mode - stuck on enter password

Latest cachy update causes Emergency Mode bug. Hope that gets dealt with in a hotfix. I had to go back to a working snapshot. Long story short, the emergency mode prompted me to enter a password and I still cannot even get past it.

We need more info on that. Try the forum search, there are plenty of “Emergency state” posts. Maybe something fits to your problems, otherwise we really need more info than “latest update broke my system”.

My system still works and I just updated yesterday (as did thousands of others, so the problem is on your machine, not in Cachy per se).

See also this and that.

Mainly, the emergency mode asked me to enter password after I installed the new update on my desktop. It cannot boot to the default desktop screen and I was left no choice to go back to a working previous snapshot. That is my biggest problem.

Same problem. The update changed my keyboard layout, so I cant login. Had to restore the snapshot I did before updating.

Your system boots into emergency mode?

That seems to be a bug in the current KDE version, but once you are in your system, you can change that easily. Probably in a config file, too, but you’d have to Google that yourself.

I had the same Problem today. Could restore the snapshot from before the update. According to snapper, the packages that were upgraded were

android-tools haveged liblo libvlc opencv plasma-login-manager protobuf

I suspect plasma-login-manager 6.7.1 to be the issue, not sure though.

for those who have a keyboard layout issue since plasma login manager update : someone open a thread about it . Login screen changed my keyboard layout after update - #2 by snoopfela if it is a kde issue and not related to bad config by cachyos : pls bring the issue to their attention on gitlab . I’m affraid that mine would be to poorly written.

Is there a fix for the emergency mode bug? I waited a few days.
