As the title says. Right before the “Get Ready..” loading screen a white popup saying “Fatal Error” appears and the game shuts down. Force the user of an older version (11.0-20260506) fixes the issue.
Do other proton versions work fine?
I don’t know which other version i should check out first, proton-experimental, proton-ge etc..? I’m not keen on blindly testing versions because every failed match comes with a penalty (the game gladly reported this everytime i restarted it, and I got kicked down in ranks 
) and I’m afraid I could get banned also.. So i just chose a version that I knew for certain worked before.
Getting banned from a game you paid to play, that’s hilarious but understandable. Maybe, tryout with any latest version available, knowing that you will get kicked out.
Can’t say if I would get banned or not 100% but not eager to find out if I may say so 
I got knocked down to “Beginner” from “1st Dan” which is not much progress lost honestly but I figured this post also could serve as a heads-up to any one of those that play TEKKEN8 online..
Yeah, it happened to me yesterday too. To be safe, I even wasted time uninstalling and reinstalling the game 
Then I switched from Proton-CachyOS (SRL/CachyOS Native) to Proton 10, and it works perfectly. I don’t know why, because Proton-CachyOS had been working perfectly before. I lost quite a few Tekken points because of this, but it’s okay
