KVM/Qemu - AMD-V does not work

Hello.

I’m currently trying to install KVM/Qemu.

I’m using the following instructions:
https://sysguides.com/install-kvm-on-linux

I have activated AMD-V in the bios. I wanted to check this with the following command:

❯ lscpu | grep Virtualization
~

However, the output is empty. AMD-V is apparently not activated.
What could be the reason for this?

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Pro 5 (14APH8) with an AMD Ryzen 7840HS.
Kernel is 6.12.8-2-cachyos.

Thanks.

It’s there on my system.

Are you sure your shell is in english and the displayed lscpu output contains the word spelled “Virtualization” (it is spelled differently in other languages).

Post the output of “lscpu” so we can see the full text output of the virtualization support functions.

did you shutdown after activation in BIOS?

You are right, it is set to German. :see_no_evil:

It is activated, I was just looking for the wrong spelling.
