Keyboard freezes after sleep/suspend on laptop | Requires reboot or external keyboard reconnect

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue on CachyOS where the laptop keyboard freezes after the system wakes up from sleep/suspend mode.

Issue

  • Laptop goes to sleep normally

  • After waking it up, the built-in keyboard becomes completely unresponsive

  • Mouse works

  • Only Hard reboot fixes the issue consistently

System Details

  • OS: CachyOS

  • Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma

  • Kernel Version: 7.0.5-2-cachyos

  • Laptop Model: Acer

  • Wayland

What I Tried

  • Updating the system completely

  • Rebooting multiple times

Does it happen when you induce sleep?

The issue only appears after suspend/sleep. During normal usage the keyboard works perfectly.

Has anyone faced something similar on CachyOS or Arch-based systems?
Any fix related to ACPI, i8042, kernel parameters, or sleep services would really help.

Feels like the keyboard driver never properly wakes up after sleep mode

Thanks.

same issue in wirless (2.4 G dongle) Keybord. but for me he freeze randomly without deconnecting. switch ON/OFF will resolve the situation until the next (generaly few minutes)
