Stats:
- ROG Strix G16 G615LR with RTX 5070 Ti
- Crashes started after today’s update (nvidia-open 595.58.03-5.1 → 6.1)
- Full kernel panic with D=DIE taint
- nvidia-powerd losing DRM permissions before crashes
- BIOS and firmware fully up to date
System has been pretty stable for a while, along with doing weekly package manager updates via pacman, yay and flatpak. Did the usual updates for this week today, and started getting what appear to be random lockups (system just freezes, have to force-reboot). On one occasion there was a full kernel panic as well (see end of post for photo of the crashed laptop screen).
I’ve tried some variations of the Nvidia driver but doesn’t seem to be working, and so far I haven’t tracked down an exact trigger/cause for these crashes outside of “something nvidia”.
Could use some advice or another pair of eyes to help catch what I’m missing here to resolve this. Thank you!
